Microfinance Life

Community

Real people. Real work. Shared learning.

Microfinance Life is a community and knowledge platform for Nepal's microfinance sector. The institutional record is sourced and dated. The community layer grows from contributions that are reviewed before anything is published.

What you can do today

Three ways to take part. None requires an account, and every contribution goes through the same review.

What is published today

The platform is deliberately explicit about its stage. Institutional facts are live; community stories are not yet.

No community stories, photos or videos are published yet

When a contribution is verified and consent is confirmed, it will appear here and on the media page with its source and date. Until then, the section stays empty rather than showing placeholders.

Media and digital records are listed on Media & activity and Digital presence. Institutional counts come from the directory snapshot.

How a contribution is reviewed

A small, explicit process. Nothing is auto-published, and no story is presented as an institution's official position unless the institution has confirmed it.

  1. Open an issue or a pull request

Describe what happened, where and when, and include the source, permission or first-hand account that supports it.

  2. A maintainer checks the evidence

We check the source, the date and any consent. If something is missing, we ask for it. We may decline a contribution that cannot be supported.

  3. Accepted material is published with provenance

A story or photograph carries its date and contributor credit where consent allows, and links to the institution it concerns.

  4. Disagreements stay visible

If sources conflict, the disagreement is recorded rather than silently resolved. Nothing is auto-published.

Community guidelines

The short version of what we ask of every contributor.

  • Source every factual claim, or label it clearly as a first-hand account.
  • Obtain explicit permission before publishing a photograph or quotation of an identifiable person.
  • Never send client account numbers, loan balances or other personal financial data.
  • Do not present a community story as an institution's official position unless the institution has confirmed it.
  • Respect the people and institutions you write about. Unsourced allegations are not published.
